Glass Art Meets Mechanical Craft
At its heart is a handmade glass universe with a real opal inside. The astronaut’s intricate metal body is carefully assembled by hand, piece by piece. A gentle twist of the head lights up the orb. Every piece arrives fully assembled and ready to display.
A Universe Worth Keeping
A tiny universe shaped by hand, held by an intricate metal explorer. No two glass universes are exactly alike. A piece to treasure in your own space, or give to someone who means the world to you.
Crafted Through Patience and Precision
Every astronaut starts with individual metal components. Over hours of careful hand assembly, each piece finds its place, transforming an intricate mechanical design into a finished work of art.
A Work of Art on Its Own
This isn't just an astronaut's head. It's a CosmoWhirl Orb — a handcrafted glass universe with a real opal at its center, created to be treasured on its own.

What Goes Into Each CosmoWhirl
Corning Borosilicate Glass
Known for its clarity, durability, and resistance to thermal stress, Corning borosilicate glass forms the highly transparent body of each CosmoWhirl.
Opal Accent
The opal creates a floating focal point inside the glass, adding depth and giving the piece its distinctive planet-like presence.
Pure Gold & Silver Fuming
Pure gold and silver are used in the fuming process to create luminous color, depth, and a sense of drifting movement inside each CosmoWhirl.
Precision Annealing
A carefully controlled annealing process gradually relieves internal stress in the glass, helping improve stability over time.
Why It Takes Time
From shaping and annealing through every stage in between, each CosmoWhirl is repeatedly checked, inspected, and refined. The process takes time, and no step can be skipped.
A regular style typically takes at least 7 days to complete, while the rarer Supernova Remnant usually requires at least 10 days.
The blue orb shown in the video is a piece that didn’t meet our standard. Every CosmoWhirl we send out is the result of repeated attempts—sometimes several, sometimes dozens—until the final piece meets our standard of perfection.
Shown in Real Light
In natural light, CosmoWhirl appears clearer and more subtle. Under focused or artificial light, its color, depth, and internal details become more pronounced.
That’s why we show CosmoWhirl under different real lighting conditions, so you can see how the piece changes with its surroundings.
Supernova Remnant
Inspired by the luminous remnants of a stellar explosion, Supernova Remnant is the rarest CosmoWhirl style—deeper, more fluid, and more drifting than our regular designs.
This effect can’t simply be forced. It often takes multiple attempts to achieve the depth, movement, and visual intensity we look for, and only pieces that reach that standard are released as Supernova Remnant.
Choose it for the rarest, most visually striking, and most collectible CosmoWhirl.
Past pieces are shown below for reference. No two form the same way.
What Customers Notice in Person
More Detailed in Person
Customers often say photos don’t fully capture the layers, color, and fine details you notice in person.
Hard to Put Down
Customers also mention picking it up again and again, noticing something different as the light and viewing angle change.
