Description

Small-batch handmade Song brocade and full-grain cowhide leather cinch belt made in China, designed to define the waist with a structured brocade panel and a clean leather strap for a confident, gathered silhouette.

Behind the Product

Wealthbound Belt is inspired by the Chinese blessing yao chan wan guan - a wish for prosperity held close. A framed Song brocade panel becomes the visual center, while the full-grain cowhide strap cinches and defines, turning an outerwear layer into a composed, intentional look. It is made to add structure without feeling loud, so the pattern reads like a quiet talisman rather than decoration.

For Abundance & Gratitude, it reflects a steady kind of wealth: not just what you gain, but what you keep, appreciate, and grow over time. Wear it as a reminder to hold your resources with care, and to welcome more with a grounded, thankful mindset.

Craft Process & Handmade Character

Craft Process: Song brocade is a Chinese intangible cultural heritage textile known for its refined, pattern-rich surfaces. Artisans first turn the pattern into a weave plan (color separation), then set up the loom with carefully arranged warp threads. During weaving, they lift selected warp groups and insert weft threads in changing colors, often switching shuttles frequently, so the motif is built line by line directly in the weave. After weaving, the fabric is stabilized, trimmed, and finished to keep the pattern crisp and the handfeel s

Handmade Character: Each belt is made in small batches. Because the brocade is cut from patterned cloth and aligned by hand, motif placement and pattern centering may vary slightly from piece to piece. Minor differences in stitching tension and edge finish are natural signs of hand assembly.

Craft Artist & Origin

    2. Clean gently with a dry, soft cloth; do not machine wash or use chemical cleaners.
    3. When not in use, store in a dust bag and keep the bag structured to maintain its shape.

    What Makes FolkMake Different

    Real Handmade in China:
Every piece is made in China by independent artisans and small studios — not factory-mass-produced. Built for everyday life, and chosen for lasting beauty.

    Intention-Led Collections:
Shop by intention — calm & protection, luck & new beginnings, love & connection, strength & confidence, abundance & gratitude, or healing & comfort — so it’s easier to find what you want to keep or gift.

    Clear Origin & Materials:
Each product page tells you where it’s made, what it’s made of, and what to expect — in plain, specific language.

    Respectful Maker Partnerships:
We protect the maker’s original voice and craft. Fair pricing, honest descriptions, and no cheap imitations — so the piece arrives in its most authentic form.

    Why We Started FolkMake

We are a young Chinese couple, Cecilia Chen and Oliver Sun. FolkMake exists to bring real handmade work in China to a wider world — pieces that feel honest, well made, and worth living with for a long time.

Our original intention was simple: to create a clear bridge, through us, for more people to understand these niche yet masterful crafts — what they are, how they’re made, and who stands behind them. For every piece, we explain materials and origin in plain, specific language, and we protect the maker’s original intention — so what you receive is not just an object, but the craft and meaning it was created to carry. We also organize our collections by intention, so it’s easier to find a piece that fits what you want to keep or gift — calm and protection, luck and new beginnings, love and connection, strength and confidence, abundance and gratitude, or healing and comfort.

    The FolkMake Way

Each piece carries a clear intention — calm and protection, luck and new beginnings, love and connection, strength and confidence, abundance and gratitude, or healing and comfort — so you can choose the meaning you want to keep or gift.

We lean into craft that rewards a closer look — hand-built forms, careful finishing, and details made by time, not shortcuts. Every piece is judged by precision, balance, and how it feels in real use, so the craftsmanship is something you can actually notice.

Everything on FolkMake is handmade in China — small-batch, never mass-produced. That means each piece may carry subtle natural variations, a quiet proof it was made by real hands.
