Craft Process

Each barrette starts from a carved and polished wooden base. Layers of natural lacquer are applied and slowly cured to achieve depth and durability. Petal-shaped mother-of-pearl pieces are individually cut, arranged, and inlaid to form balanced floral compositions. The edges are refined and polished to ensure a smooth, comfortable wear while preserving the sharp clarity of each shell highlight.

Handmade Character

As each floral inlay is hand-cut and applied, minor differences in petal shape, spacing, and iridescence will occur. These subtle shifts are part of the work character and make every barrette one of a kind.

1. Avoid contact with alcohol, perfume, or chemicals that may damage the lacquer surface.
2. Store separately to prevent scratches on the inlay.
3. Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth after use, and avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight or humidity.

Shipping
This piece has no ready stock and requires a production window shown on this page. We dispatch promptly after completion. International delivery typically arrives about one to two weeks after shipment; timing depends on destination, carrier, and customs. Delivery dates are estimates only.

Returns & Exchanges
Change-of-mind returns are not accepted for handmade items. If the item arrives damaged, incorrect, or materially not as described, contact info@folkmake.com within 7 days of delivery with your order number and a complete, continuous unboxing video (from sealed parcel to inspection). Keep all packaging and accessories. We will review and, if approved, arrange repair or replacement; if a like-for-like replacement is not feasible, we will refund to your original payment method. We will provide return instructions and the correct return address by email.
