The beauty of this pair lies in the luminous rhythm of mother-of-pearl inlay. Each fragment of shell is hand-cut, polished, and set against deep-toned horn and lacquer, creating a subtle glow that shifts with the light. The oval form, gentle curve, and vertical shell inlay line echo a calm aurora across a night sky - quiet, precise, and enduring. This design speaks to patience, restraint, and the intimate dialogue between material and hand.

Natural horn, lacquer, mother-of-pearl inlays, 925 silver hooks or brass clips.

Craft Process

Each earring begins with a natural horn base, carefully shaped and polished to achieve a smooth, organic form. Multiple layers of lacquer are then applied and cured, building depth and gloss. Fine mother-of-pearl pieces are hand-cut and inlaid into the surface, aligned to guide the reflection of light in a vertical flow. The final finish is polished by hand, revealing a luminous pattern that feels both minimal and intricate.

Because natural horn, lacquer, and shell inlays are handcrafted, each piece may vary slightly in color tone, grain, and reflection angle. These variations are natural marks of genuine urushi-inspired craftsmanship and make every pair unique.

1. Avoid exposure to alcohol, perfume, or chemicals that may damage lacquer.
2. Store separately to prevent scratches on the shell surface.
3. Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth after wear, and keep away from prolonged direct sunlight.

This piece has no ready stock and requires a production window shown on this page. We dispatch promptly after completion. International delivery typically arrives about one to two weeks after shipment; timing depends on destination, carrier, and customs. Delivery dates are estimates only.

Returns & Exchanges
Change-of-mind returns are not accepted for handmade items. If the item arrives damaged, incorrect, or materially not as described, contact info@folkmake.com within 7 days of delivery with your order number and a complete, continuous unboxing video (from sealed parcel to inspection). Keep all packaging and accessories. We will review and, if approved, arrange repair or replacement; if a like-for-like replacement is not feasible, we will refund to your original payment method. We will provide return instructions and the correct return address by email.
