Description

Made-to-order 18K gold mountain ring crafted in China, inspired by the sunlit peaks of Gongga Snow Mountain and other iconic ranges, with fine hand carved details that catch the light with every movement.

Behind the Product

This ring was born from the memory of seeing sunlit peaks that are impossible to forget. When sunlight pours over the snow covered mountain, the whole ridge seems to melt into glowing gold, every facet shimmering with a moving brightness. The sculpted mountain band wraps that moment around the finger, turning a distant landscape into something you can wear and study from different angles as the light changes.

For Luck & New Beginnings, the design follows a belief that seeing the sunlit mountain brings good fortune for the year ahead. SUPERCUSTOM Studio offers versions based on well known mountains from around the world, and can also carve a peak that holds special meaning for you or the person receiving the ring. It is meant to keep that personal landscape and its blessing at your fingertips, like a small talisman you can glance at during new chapters, travels, fresh starts, or simply on ordinary days when you want a reminder that luck can appear with the next light.

Materials & Size

Metal: 18K gold.
Band profile: continuous mountain ridge relief around the ring, customizable to different mountain silhouettes.
Band width: approx 4.0 - 4.5 mm (0.16 - 0.18 in).
Gold weight: approx 3.5 - 6.5 g (0.12 - 0.23 oz), varying by ring size and chosen mountain.
Custom engraving: optional inner band engraving up to 15 characters (letters, numbers, and simple punctuation).

Craft Process & Handmade Character

Craft Process: Each ring begins as an 18K gold band that is carefully shaped and prepared for carving. Guided by sketches of the chosen sunlit mountain outline, the engraver works under magnification with tools as fine as 0.08 mm to build the ridge line, cutting tiny planes, valleys, and peaks that are even more delicate than a fingerprint. The outer surface is then refined so that some areas stay crisp and matte to show texture, while others are polished to a soft shine, allowing the mountains to shift in brightness under different light s

Handmade Character: Because the mountain ridge is carved by hand and can be based on different peaks, no two rings share exactly the same outline. The height of each summit, the depth of the valleys, and the way the texture catches light can vary slightly from piece to piece and from one mountain reference to another. Small tool marks inside the relief and subtle differences in polish are part of the making process, not flaws, and show where the engraver has shaped the gold directly. Ring weight also changes with size and chosen mountain, so each finished piece feels slightly different in the hand while keeping the same overall design language.

    FAQ

It is real 18K gold. This is not a gold-tone ring or a plated mountain design. The ring itself is made in 18K gold, with a carved mountain ridge running around the band, so the value comes from both the material and the hand carving.

It can be made around different mountain silhouettes, including one that is personal to you. You can choose a world-famous peak or a mountain that carries your own memory, which makes this ring feel much more personal than a standard mountain motif ring.

After you place the order, we will contact you to confirm the custom details and your ring size. This ring is made to order, so the final piece is based on your confirmed size and the mountain version you want, rather than pulled from ready stock.

No, and that is part of what makes it special. The mountain ridge is carved by hand, and the design can change with the chosen mountain, so the summit height, valley depth, surface texture, polish, and the way the ring catches light can vary slightly from piece to piece. The overall design language stays the same, but the final ring is still individually made.

Yes, you can add inner band engraving up to 15 characters. Short names, initials, dates, coordinates, or a compact phrase usually work best because they keep the engraving clear and meaningful without crowding the inside of the ring.

Yes, especially if you want the ring to carry a specific memory rather than just look beautiful. Because the mountain can be tied to a place that matters to you, and the inner band can be engraved, it works especially well for anniversaries, major life transitions, travel memories, and meaningful gifts that mark a new chapter.

    1. Avoid hard knocks or scratching against other metal or stone surfaces to protect the fine mountain carving.
    2. Remove the ring before sports, heavy housework, bathing or swimming, and keep it away from chemicals, perfume, and strong cleaners.
    3. If needed, gently wipe with a soft, dry cloth; avoid abrasive polishes that could soften the carved texture and edges.
    4. Store separately in a soft pouch or ring box to prevent friction with other jewelry and reduce exposure to humidity.

Crafted by hand. Shaped by your choices.

Every piece at FolkMake is made by hand by our artisans, with close attention to material, finish, and form.

When you choose a detail, finish, or visual direction, it becomes part of the making itself — so the final piece feels more personal, more intentional, and more truly yours.

We care about real craftsmanship, distinct character, and lasting worth — never anonymous mass production. Nothing leaves FolkMake until it feels right in hand and meets our standards.

    The FolkMake Way

Each piece at FolkMake is chosen with a clear intention in mind — whether you are drawn to calm and protection, luck and new beginnings, love and connection, strength and confidence, abundance and gratitude, or healing and comfort. That makes it easier to choose not just what looks right, but what feels right to keep or give.

We care about hand-built form, careful finishing, and the kind of detail that only comes from time and attention. Every piece is judged for precision, balance, and how it feels in real life — so the craftsmanship is something you can actually see and feel.

Every FolkMake piece is finished one by one, so slight variations in color, texture, or finish are part of what makes it real. The overall design stays true, but each one carries its own small differences — a quiet sign it was made by hand, not pulled from factory stock.
