Details & Description

1. Made-to-order cuff in forged iron with 24K gold and 990 silver inlay, using a revived Chinese heritage iron inlaid gold technique.
2. Mountain ridge design inspired by Gongga Snow Mountain sunrise, ideal for daily wear or meaningful gifting.
3. Intention: For Strength & Confidence, carrying blessings of protection, hope and achievement.

Made-to-order open cuff bracelet crafted in China from Russian forged iron with 24K gold and 990 silver inlay, using a revived imperial era iron inlaid gold technique to capture the golden light on Gongga Snow Mountain.

Behind the Product

This cuff takes its shape and pattern from the sight of Gongga Snow Mountain at sunrise, a moment Tibetans regard as deeply sacred. When the first light falls on the ridgeline, the white peaks glow with a sharp golden edge, as if the mountain has been brushed with metal leaf. The iron inlaid gold technique echoes that scene: darkened iron as the cool mountain body, with chiselled channels that hold real gold along the crest, capturing a still frame of sunlit snow in metal.

For Strength & Confidence, it carries the blessings that people see in the sunlit peaks of Gongga: good fortune and protection on the road ahead, hope and inner power when you face steep climbs, and a quiet reminder of stability, safety, and achievement. Worn close to the wrist, it feels like keeping a mountain horizon at your side, steadying you through both everyday tasks and important milestones.

Materials & Size

Cuff body: patternless forged iron from Russia.
Inlay: 24K gold, 990 silver.
Cuff width: approx 10 mm (0.39 in).
Thickness: approx 4 mm (0.16 in).
Reference weight (165 mm wrist): approx 42 g (1.5 oz).

Craft Process & Handmade Character

Craft Process: This cuff is made using a traditional Chinese iron inlaid gold technique once used in imperial workshops. The artisan first forges and shapes the iron body, then chisels a dense crosshatch texture along the future mountain line to create a rough bed for gold. Thin high purity gold is laid over this area and cold forged into the texture with small hammers so it locks mechanically into the iron instead of simply coating the surface. After the gold is secured, the mountain silhouettes are refined with further chiseling and filin

Handmade Character: Because each cuff is forged, chiseled, and inlaid by hand, no two mountain lines are exactly the same. The shape of the golden ridge, the balance between gold and silver highlights, and the depth of the grey oxidation can vary slightly from piece to piece. Small tool marks or subtle color transitions along the surface are part of the making process, not flaws, and show where the artisan has worked directly into the metal. The inner surface is hand polished, so minor variations in sheen are normal and help each cuff feel individually finished.

Craft Artist & Origin

BAHE Studio

BAHE Studio focuses on reviving ancient Chinese iron inlaid gold techniques and translating them into contemporary jewelry. The FolkMake Way

Each FolkMake piece is created with intention — not only in how it looks, but in the feeling, story, and presence it brings to a space or to the person receiving it. Whether quiet or expressive, practical or symbolic, every piece is designed to feel distinctive, meaningful, and worth keeping.

We care about hand-built form, careful finishing, and the kind of detail that only comes from time and attention. Every piece is judged for precision, balance, and how it feels in real life — so the craftsmanship is something you can actually see and feel.

Every FolkMake piece is finished one by one, so slight variations in color, texture, or finish are part of what makes it real. The overall design stays true, but each one carries its own small differences — a quiet sign it was made by hand, not pulled from factory stock.

    FAQ

No. Duties, taxes, and standard worldwide shipping are covered by FolkMake and already included in the price. The price you see is the final delivered price, and you will not need to pay extra customs, tax, or delivery fees when your order arrives.

It uses real precious metals, not just a gold-colored surface. The cuff body is forged iron, and the inlay includes 24K gold and 990 silver, so the contrast comes from actual material and handwork rather than a simple decorative coating.

The difference is in both the technique and the meaning. This piece uses a revived Chinese iron inlaid gold technique, and the mountain-line design comes from the sunrise over Gongga Snow Mountain, so it carries more craft depth and symbolic weight than a generic black-and-gold cuff.

It is wearable, but it does not try to disappear. The inner surface is hand polished, the proportions stay relatively clean, and the design is made to sit on the wrist rather than behave like a fragile display piece. At the same time, the forged iron body and gold-silver mountain ridge give it real presence.

No, and that is part of what makes it real. Each cuff is forged, chiseled, and inlaid by hand, so the mountain line, the balance between gold and silver highlights, the grey oxidation, and small surface transitions will vary slightly from piece to piece. The overall design stays true, but each one carries its own handmade finish.

After you place the order, we will contact you to collect your wrist size and make the cuff accordingly. This piece is made to order rather than pulled from stock, so the fit starts with your actual wrist measurement.

It needs a little more care than ordinary silver jewelry, but it is not difficult if you wear it mindfully. Keep it away from moisture, perfume, sweat, and chemicals, wipe it dry after wearing, avoid abrasive polishing on the darkened surface, and store it in a dry pouch or box.

    1. Avoid strong bending or pulling when putting on or taking off the cuff to keep the iron body and inlay stable.
    2. Keep away from moisture, perfume, sweat and chemicals; wipe dry with a soft cloth after wearing and before storage.
    3. Do not use abrasive cleaners or polishing cloths on the darkened outer surface, to preserve the intentional oxidation and texture.
    4. Store separately in a dry pouch or box to prevent scratches from harder jewelry and reduce contact with air and humidity.
