Behind the Product

This wrist bag draws from the ancient weaving traditions of Zhuang brocade, recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage of China. Its interlocking geometric motifs - symbols of harmony, prosperity, and protection - are reinterpreted through fresh colorways that transition the craft from heirloom to modern accessory. The result is a piece that honors centuries of patience and precision while inviting it naturally into contemporary life.

Craft Process

The fabric is handwoven by Zhuang artisans using the traditional "continuous warp, broken weft" method. Each pattern is created line by line through the rhythmic cycle of lifting warp threads, throwing the shuttle, beating the weft, and changing colors. Because every section of the motif demands precision and multiple color transitions, weaving progresses slowly - sometimes only a few centimeters per day.

Once the brocade is complete, artisans carefully align and cut the patterned fabric, ensuring visual symmetry when folded into the bag's loop-handle form. The piece is then fully lined and hand-finished to achieve a soft yet structured shape that rests comfortably on the wrist.

Each Loomlight Wrist Bag is individually handwoven and assembled, so variations in motif alignment, weave density, or color tone naturally occur. These subtle differences reflect the rhythm of handcraft and make each piece uniquely alive with the touch of its maker.

This piece has no ready stock and requires a production window shown on this page. We dispatch promptly after completion. International delivery typically arrives about one to two weeks after shipment; timing depends on destination, carrier, and customs. Delivery dates are estimates only.

Returns & Exchanges
Change-of-mind returns are not accepted for handmade items. If the item arrives damaged, incorrect, or materially not as described, contact info@folkmake.com within 7 days of delivery with your order number and a complete, continuous unboxing video (from sealed parcel to inspection). Keep all packaging and accessories. We will review and, if approved, arrange repair or replacement; if a like-for-like replacement is not feasible, we will refund to your original payment method. We will provide return instructions and the correct return address by email.
