Small-batch handmade Longquan celadon ceramic cup made in China and shipped from China, featuring Auspice floral motifs carved with a yin-yang double-carving and glaze-fill method, then high-fired for a durable, heat-resistant finish.

    Behind the Product

Auspice is FolkMake's way to say "good signs, good starts" - a lucky motif you can actually use every day. This cup is handcrafted using the Longquan celadon traditional firing technique, a heritage craft recognized in 2006 as a national intangible cultural heritage practice and later listed as human intangible cultural heritage in 2009. Ceramic expert Li Bin builds the beauty from the inside out: every pattern is his original design, carved by hand with a yin-yang double-carving method and filled with glaze, so the Auspice flowers appear with depth rather than surface painting.

For Luck & New Beginnings, it is a daily reset in your hands. Fill it, sip, and start again - a simple ritual that invites good momentum, steadier routines, and a brighter next chapter.

    Materials

Cup - Handmade ceramic, high-fired; approx 400cc (13.5 fl oz); height 13.2cm (5.2 in); rim diameter 8.9cm (3.5 in); foot ring diameter 6cm (2.4 in)

Glazes - Wood ash glaze (brown), Meiziqing celadon glaze (green); both formulated by Li Bin from traditional mineral glaze materials

    Craft Process

The cup is shaped by hand, then refined and carved with a yin-yang double-carving method before the grooves are filled with glaze to form the Auspice motif. Li Bin mixes his own glazes from traditional mineral glaze materials, including a wood ash glaze for warm brown tones and a Meiziqing celadon glaze for soft green. Each piece is high-fired at about 1280-1300C, which vitrifies the ceramic and results in a durable, heat-resistant, food-safe finish.

    Craft Artist

    Li Bin

Li Bin is a ceramic firing expert and an inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage craft Longquan celadon traditional firing technique. He insists on original creation, designing each motif and formulating his own glazes from traditional mineral glaze materials to ensure both safety and a distinctive finish.

    Handmade Character

Handmade ceramics are never identical. Expect small millimeter-level variations in size, plus natural differences in glaze flow, color depth, and motif clarity from piece to piece. Measurements are for reference only and should not be judged by machine-made standards.

    1. Rinse with warm water and a mild detergent. Avoid abrasive scrubbers to protect the glaze surface.
    2. Sudden temperature changes may cause damage. Let the cup cool before rinsing, and avoid pouring boiling water into a cold cup.

    Shipping

Crafting time: most pieces are made to order and need about 2–5 business days. The current estimate for this design is shown on the product page.

Standard international shipping: free, usually 7–15 business days after dispatch.

Express options: paid express shipping is available at checkout to speed up the international transit time. Crafting time itself cannot be rushed, so we can keep the quality and careful checks.

All orders ship from Asia and US hubs with tracking so you can follow your parcel until it arrives.

    Returns & After-sales

If your standard (non-custom) piece arrives damaged or very different from the description/photos, we will help you with a replacement or full refund and cover all shipping costs.

If you simply change your mind or feel it is not right for you (for non-custom pieces), you can return the item within 14 days from the delivery date. In this case, return shipping is paid by you, and we will refund the product price after we confirm it is undamaged.

For custom-made pieces (for example, sizes or details made only for you), we cannot accept returns unless there is a clear quality issue.

To protect your rights, we strongly recommend recording a short unboxing video when you open the parcel, so we can help you quickly if anything goes wrong in transit.

    What Makes FolkMake Different

    Authentic Chinese Handcraft:
Every piece is handmade in China by independent artisans or studios, never copied from factory molds, often drawing on symbols of blessing, protection and everyday luck.

    Personally Selected Quality:
We only list pieces we would wear or gift ourselves after checking the details, finish and comfort in real life, and we highlight what each one is for, from calm or protection to love, strength, abundance or healing.

    Clear Origin & Materials:
Each product page tells you who made it, where it comes from and what it is made of, in plain language.

    Respectful Artisan Partnerships:
We work directly with each creator, discussing materials, techniques and fair pricing while honoring their vision, so you receive the piece in its most authentic form.

    Why We Started FolkMake

We are a young Chinese couple, Cecilia Chen and Oliver Sun, who created FolkMake to travel across China, meet artisans, and choose handmade pieces that genuinely move us.

Each piece carries not only careful materials and craft, but also years of practice and personal vision. We keep pricing fair and reasonable so makers are properly paid and more people can discover their work, and we group our collections by intention so it is easy to find a piece that speaks to what you or someone you love needs most right now, whether that is calm and protection, luck and new beginnings, love and connection, strength and confidence, abundance and gratitude, or healing and comfort.

    The FolkMake Way

Each piece keeps the maker’s original meaning and comes with a clear intention - calm and protection, luck and new beginnings, love and connection, strength and confidence, prosperity and wealth, or healing and comfort - so you can choose the blessing you want to carry or gift.

We work with heritage craft masters and independent artisans on intricate techniques factories can’t replicate, using premium materials and real wear-and-use testing, so only the best pieces are listed.

Everything on FolkMake is 100% handmade in China - never factory-made, never mass-produced.
