1. Small-batch handmade high-fired ceramic cup with hand-formulated mineral glazes.
2. "You Qian Tu" coin-and-rabbit motif - a bright-future blessing in one playful design.
3. For Abundance & Gratitude - a daily reminder to welcome prosperity and appreciate what is already growing.

Description

Small-batch handmade Longquan celadon ceramic cup made in China and shipped from China, featuring a coin-and-rabbit Fortune Forward motif carved with a yin-yang double-carving and glaze-fill method, then high-fired for a durable, heat-resistant, food-safe finish.

Behind the Product

In Chinese, the coin-and-rabbit motif is nicknamed You Qian Tu - a playful phrase that also sounds like a bright future ahead. The coin stands for prosperity and resources in hand, while the rabbit brings a light, hopeful energy. Put together, the meaning becomes clear and uplifting: may your path stay open, your efforts pay off, and your future keep getting brighter.

For Abundance & Gratitude, it is a daily reminder to notice what is already growing in your life, and to keep moving forward with steady confidence - one warm sip at a time.

Materials & Size

Cup - Handmade ceramic, high-fired; Size option A: approx 260cc (8.8 fl oz), rim diameter 9.4cm (3.7 in), height 7cm (2.8 in); Size option B: approx 300cc (10.1 fl oz), rim diameter 8.9cm (3.5 in), height 9cm (3.5 in)

Glazes - Hand-formulated mineral glazes by Li Bin (brown wood ash glaze and green Meiziqing celadon glaze)

Craft Process & Handmade Character

Craft Process: The pieces are shaped by hand, then refined and carved with a yin-yang double-carving method before the grooves are filled with glaze to form the motif. Li Bin mixes his own glazes from traditional mineral glaze materials, including a wood ash glaze for warm brown tones and a Meiziqing celadon glaze for soft green. Each piece is high-fired at about 1280-1300C, which vitrifies the ceramic and results in a durable, heat-resistant, food-safe finish.

Handmade Character: Handmade ceramics are never identical. Expect small variations in form, glaze flow, color depth, and motif clarity from piece to piece. Measurements are for reference only and should not be judged by machine-made standards.

Craft Artist & Origin

Li Bin

Li Bin is a ceramic firing expert and an inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage craft Longquan celadon traditional firing technique. He insists on original creation, designing each motif and formulating his own glazes from traditional mineral glaze materials to ensure both safety and a distinctive finish.

    FAQ

Because Auspice is not just about symbolism. It is real handmade Longquan celadon, created through a recognized heritage firing tradition and made by Li Bin, a ceramic firing expert and inheritor of this craft. He shapes the form, creates the original motifs, and formulates the mineral glazes himself, so what you get is not a generic lucky cup, but a handmade ceramic piece with real craft authority behind it.

They have real carved depth. We use a yin-yang double-carving and glaze-fill method, so the motifs sit in the clay with texture you can see and feel, instead of looking like flat surface decoration. That is a big part of why Auspice feels more substantial, more collectible, and more gift-worthy in person.

They are made for both, and that is exactly the value. Each piece is high-fired to create a durable, heat-resistant, food-safe finish, so these are cups you can actually use for tea, coffee, or a daily pause. What makes them stronger than an ordinary daily cup is that the blessing is built into something useful, not separated from it.

Choose by format and intention. Ritual Cup is the largest single-cup option and suits someone who wants one more substantial everyday cup. Firstlight Set is the most refined cup-and-saucer choice. Daybreak Cup is the lighter, smaller option and also works well when you want a pair. Fortune Forward Cup is the best fit if you want an abundance-themed piece with size flexibility. Endless Blessing Pair is the strongest ready-to-gift option when you want two cups meant to be shared, kept as a pair, or given with relationship meaning already built in.

They are strong adult gifts because they feel thoughtful without feeling childish or empty. You are giving a handmade cup with real heritage craft behind it, real daily use, and a blessing that feels clear but still grown-up - whether that is a fresh start, abundance, continuity, or connection. That makes Auspice especially good for housewarming, tea and coffee lovers, meaningful desk-to-home objects, and people who appreciate gifts with substance rather than just sentiment.

We usually need about 5-10 days to make your piece, and delivery typically takes another 7-15 days after dispatch. That gives us enough time to complete the handmade work properly while still keeping the overall wait very reasonable for gifting or personal use.

    1. Rinse with warm water and a mild detergent. Avoid abrasive scrubbers to protect the glaze surface.
    2. Sudden temperature changes may cause damage. Let the cup cool before rinsing, and avoid pouring boiling water into a cold cup.

Crafted by hand. Shaped by your choices.

Every piece at FolkMake is made by hand by our artisans, with close attention to material, finish, and form.

When you choose a detail, finish, or visual direction, it becomes part of the making itself — so the final piece feels more personal, more intentional, and more truly yours.

We care about real craftsmanship, distinct character, and lasting worth — never anonymous mass production. Nothing leaves FolkMake until it feels right in hand and meets our standards.

    The FolkMake Way

Each piece at FolkMake is chosen with a clear intention in mind — whether you are drawn to calm and protection, luck and new beginnings, love and connection, strength and confidence, abundance and gratitude, or healing and comfort. That makes it easier to choose not just what looks right, but what feels right to keep or give.

We care about hand-built form, careful finishing, and the kind of detail that only comes from time and attention. Every piece is judged for precision, balance, and how it feels in real life — so the craftsmanship is something you can actually see and feel.

Every FolkMake piece is finished one by one, so slight variations in color, texture, or finish are part of what makes it real. The overall design stays true, but each one carries its own small differences — a quiet sign it was made by hand, not pulled from factory stock.
