Description

A small-batch handmade hair tie crafted from traditional Zhuang brocade, woven in China by Shuangmeng Zhuang Brocade Studio, blending vibrant geometric patterns with soft texture to bring a warm cultural accent to everyday styling.

Behind the Product

This piece translates the richness of Zhuang textile heritage into a simple, modern accessory you can reach for daily. The hair tie’s soft structure and bright woven motifs bring a quiet, uplifting energy to casual hairstyles, adding a subtle trace of handcraft to your routine.

Materials

Zhuang brocade fabric made from cotton and blended fibers; elastic inner band.

Craft Process

The Zhuang brocade used in this piece is woven on a traditional loom through a slow, meticulous process. Hundreds of warp threads are stretched in place, while the artisan lifts specific combinations of threads to form the pattern. Each row is created through a rhythm of raising warps, passing colored weft threads, and tightening them with the bamboo beater. Colors are changed frequently to construct the brocade’s complex motifs, and the entire textile emerges line by line — both sides showing inverse patterns.

Due to the handwoven nature of the brocade, each cut section carries unique variations in motif placement and color transitions.

Craft Artist

Handmade Character

Each piece will show small variations in brocade motif alignment, color transitions, and texture due to the nature of handwoven fabric and hand assembly. These differences are part of what makes every hair tie one-of-a-kind.

1. Gently clean with a soft, dry cloth; do not machine wash.
2. Store in a fabric pouch when not in use to prevent abrasion or fading.
